About That Kiwi Blogger

Well, my friend, this website is about you and your business. It’s about helping people building their online businesses, whether you are just starting out or are further along the track, there’s a little something something for err’body. Everything from blogging basics to social media strategy to content creation to boss branding (stretching it a little with the alliteration here) and in between.

I can help you:

  • Start building your business the right way, without the proper foundations your business will crumble – much like a house without foundations, it stays upright for a while but eventually it is going to cave in on itself. We don’t want that so I will help you build some nice, strong foundations.
  • Actually start your blog. Don’t know where to start? That’s perfectly ok, I will show you how to build your business from the ground up (with those strong foundations) including how to set up your site in WordPress, finding hosting, picking a name and customising your site.
  • Conquer the overwhelm with planning and productivity tips and tricks. I like planning (I have many a planner tucked away in nooks and crannies all over the house). Working smarter, not harder is the key here.
  • Figure out the social media side of things. We will digest the different platforms, figure out which one(s) is best for you and your brand and how to strategise like a boss. Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook are the main players here. But there are also other social media sites to take advantage of as you shall see.
  • Develop a brand you love and are proud of. A brand that you want to show off to the world and shout, ‘I did that’ with your chest puffed out like a proud peacock. From branding basics to advanced branding I got yo’ back.
  • Create killer content. You won’t have a business without content, back to the house metaphor again, the content is kind of like your walls, it’s what holds your house together. Learn how to create content that sells, that resonates with your readers and keeps them coming back for more.
  • Monetize your business, because let’s face it, that’s probably why you’re here. We’ll go over different revenues you can take to bring in the bucks. Sales funnels, affiliate marketing, course creation and product building, it’ll all be revealed.
  • How to take photos or use stock photos to help your business stand out. From photography tips and tricks to finding free stock photos, we will cover it all, baby.
  • The mystery that is email marketing and building your email list (it can be done). There are hundreds of ways to get people onto your email list, with a little bit of know-how, you can get them on to yours as well.
  • SEO, what the heck is it and why do you need to know what the heck it is? The short answer is, if you want people to find your site, you need to master this puppy. Don’t worry, it isn’t as scary as it sounds.
  • Why having the right mindset is one of the most important keys to success.
  • How to take care of your physical and mental well-being so you don’t burn out. Burn out is never fun, learn how to juggle everything without putting your own needs last.
  • We will also cover how to get traffic to your website, how to promote your website in a non-sleazy way (no one likes the sleaze), writing tips, how to let your personality shine and much much more.

Why should you listen to me?

I am a trained teacher and still have the desire to pass on the Baton of Knowledge. Learning and teaching are ingrained in me deeply. I have taught many ages and varying backgrounds so know how to tailor knowledge in a way that makes sense to you.

Being fairly no-nonsense, I believe in getting shizz done without the faff and fluff. There is no point in wasting time on unnecessary information. We have things to do, people to see, posts to write!

I’ve done all the hard work for you, I’ve done the research, experimented and trialed and errored so you don’t have to. Having run three successful blogs, I know what works and what doesn’t. I don’t want you to make the same mistakes that I did.

You know about what  that Kiwi Blogger is about, now let’s get to know each other

Hello, I’m Jem. A little bit quirky, a little bit goofy and a little bit kooky. But hopefully in a good way?

I love puns and bad jokes and will take any opportunity to bust one out. My son can vouch for this, much to his dismay. Apparently, I am embarrassing for 13-year-old boys. But isn’t that a mother’s job?

I live in a little place called New Zealand, or Kiwiland, hence the accent you may hear if you ever watch a video. Don’t worry if you can’t decipher it, I wrote a post on my Travel Blog on how to ‘Speak Kiwi’. Hopefully, that’ll help you out a wee bit.

When I am not tippy-tapping away at the computer you can find me hiking, playing the Sims (I know, I’m addicted), road tripping around our beautiful country or out taking photos. Photography is another passion of mine, I feel rather professional with a big ole camera hanging around my neck and playing with all the buttons and dials.

So anywho, let’s get on with it, shall we?

See y’all around!
